What's going on in Music ?
Sons of Silver (featuring Current And Former Members Of Pete Rg, Pearl Jam, Candlebox And
Skillet) recently released their "Doomsday Noises" EP and to celebrate we asked frontman Pete
Argyropoulos to tell us about the song "Deep Division." Here is the story:
Like nearly all our songs, Deep Division was born from one of our writing-recording sessions. Our
method is to hit record and go. Just instinct and reaction. Our working motto is "thinking leads to
stinking." In this case, while taking a moment to talk about an idea we'd been jamming on for a few
minutes, I started playing the intro guitar rhythm-riff. Dave started grooving under me. Kevin and
Adam have jumped in with their parts and we were in it. We started looping the verse and chorus.
Exploring and letting the parts stew. The very first ideas each of us played ended up being the final
parts for the song.

Aside from the chorus, the rest of the song is one chord, an A-minor, and one groove. I remember
laughing inside when, after calling out the chord changes that would become the chorus, we all
changed perfectly in sync. It was as if we'd been playing the song forever. I think we all kinda
laughed at that moment while we were playing.

Many of the lyrics, including "deep division," came during these first few moments working on the
song. I was scatting while we were playing, as I always do. Trying to come up with key lyrics while
working on the lead vocal melody. For me, the two go hand in hand. From the phrasing to the
rhyming scheme and vowel choice, they've all gotta fit with the melody and vice versa. Plus, the
lyrical theme often leads the band, overall. In this case, if the lyrics were about flowers and
chocolate, I don't think they'd drive the band in the same way as the lyric about personal and social
division.

The only struggle we had with the song was length. Originally, it had an extra verse or two. We had
a tough time letting those go. But that was a bit of a high-grade problem. We wrote 'Deep Division'
on the same day as Read 'Em Their Rights' and 'World On Fire' in early 2019, some time before the
chaos of 2020. Things that make you go hmmm.
Indie singer-songwriter Krantz has released an animated lyric video for his brand
new single "Try Living Every Day" and he shared the inspiration behind the song.
He had this to say about the track, "I wrote this about a buddy at first, but ended up
feeling like I was singing about myself. I've missed a lot of fun trips, big events, or
even just get togethers with friends because I was afraid to take the day off from
working.

"I just thought I had to make money and that was the most important thing, but came
to realize I was missing what would have been great times in my life just to have
more in my bank account.

I'm not saying don't work a job or anything like that, just don't become a slave to it
and make sure ya live everyday to the fullest. Pep talk over..."
Metal legends Judas Priest have announced that they will be launching their very own
music festival next year as part of their ongoing 50th anniversary celebration.

Dubbed the Warlando Metal Fest, the event will be taking place on Warlando takes
place Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Orlando Amphitheater at Central Florida
Fairgrounds Orlando.

Priest will be headlining the festival and have recruited Sabaton, Lacuna Coil, Soulfly,
Mushroom Head and Uncured, to all perform at the event.

AlbumJob For A Cowboy frontman Jonny Davy has revealed that the band has recruited
drummer Navene Koperweis (Animals As Leaders, The Faceless, Animosity, Whitechapel,
and Entheo) for their first album since 2014's "Sun Eater".
Davy broke the news during an interview with Metal Sucks to discuss the new album. He
said, "We are actually going to have one of my really good, old friends, who I worked with on
another project. I believe he is one of the most underrated metal drummers who, for
whatever reason, I feel like he doesn't get enough credit. Navene Koperweis is going to be
playing drums on this record.

"I just always feel he should be bigger than he is from a namesake perspective. He's one of
those guys who can do it all. I feel like he gets put in this box where he's looked at as
particularly a death metal drummer, but he can do so much more than that."

Jonny says of his relationship with Navene, "He's great. We go way back. " was on my first
whole Job For a Cowboy tour with him and Animosity. Our first tour was with them.

"Then we did a little project together called Fleshwrought, what was it... in 2011? 2012? So
we're pretty pumped on it, he's a good ole' pal."

Metallica recently got together to rehearse for their drive-in concert and Lars Ulrich says that
the experience of reconnecting has the band looking forward to what's next.
Ulrich made the comments during an appearance on The Zane Lowe Show on Apple Music.
He said, "Between you and I and nobody else, we have a call at two o'clock today, the four
of us, to talk about what's next, after spending the two weeks in the bubble and having the
best time ever reconnecting. We're looking forward to what's next.

"We've spent a few of the summer months trading riffs, trading ideas, throwing creative
thoughts back and forth through Zoom calls and through other technologies. And we're
looking forward to getting to it.

He continued, stating that there is "lots of material to share with the world. And it's just a
matter of the practicals and being able to sort of figure out how to get it going as quick as
possible."

Lars added, "We are trying to find any possible ways to connect with our fans and with the
Metallica family. And I think that a positive coming out of these five dark months is that it's
forcing you to just rethink what you know and what we're so used to.

"So a new world order calls for new experimental times and shenanigans. So let's see how it
plays out."
U2 are streaming an acoustic version of "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of"
as the first preview to a series of expanded 20th anniversary reissues of their 2000
album, "All That You Can't Leave Behind."
The second single from the Irish band's tenth studio record was a Top 10 hit in
several countries, excluding the US, where it stalled at No. 52 on the Billboard Hot
100.

The project went on to sell more than 12 million copies and win 7 Grammy Awards
while becoming the only album in history to have multiple tracks win Record Of The
Year ("Beautiful Day" in 2001 and "Walk On" in 2002).

Due October 30, the multi-format 20th anniversary series will be available in
Standard, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe editions on CD, alongside vinyl, and digital
versions that will feature a new 12-track remaster of the record and include an
additional track, "The Ground Beneath Her Feet", in all formats.

The expanded deluxe editions include highlights from a 4-night run at The Fleet Center
in Boston, MA in June of 2001, while a 51-track Super Deluxe box set adds much
more, including bonus tracks, B-sides, studio outtakes, remixes and a 32-page
hardback book from longtime friend and collaborator Anton Corbijn.
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine shared the good news that doctors have
given him a "good bill of health" after undergoing chemotherapy and radiation
treatment for cancer.
Mustaine was diagnosed with throat cancer 16 months ago and he was asked
about his heath during a Q&A to promote his new book, "Rust In Peace: The
Inside Story Of The Megadeth Masterpiece".

Dave said, "I have a good bill of health. And you know me - when I do things, I
have to do it all the way. So in the process of doing all of the testing, they
found a bunch of other little spots where it showed up on my skin. So they took
care of all of that.

"And I'm in the Studio working. I'm a little bit tired, a little fatigued from all of the
chemo and 52 doses of radiation, which is a lot. But I'd get into the studio and
I'd start hearing that music and it'd start seeping into my soul, and nothing
matters anymore. I can fly."
The Rolling Stones have made UK chart history with the reissues of their 1973
album, "Goats Head Soup." According to the Official Charts Company, the
project debuts atop the Official Albums Chart to become the first band in
history to score a No. 1 album across six different decades.
The feat earns the Stones their 13th chart-topper to equal the number by solo
acts Elvis Presley and Robbie Williams, while The Beatles remain at the top of
the list with 17 UK No. 1's.
